NRA-ILA-Election Volunteer Coordinators (EVCs)
Since 1994, NRA-ILA’s Grassroots Division has recruited and trained more than 330 Election Volunteer Coordinators (EVCs) to cover more than 360 congressional districts.
EVCs act as liaisons between pro-gun candidates’ campaigns and NRA members in their districts. EVCs provide volunteer support for all grassroots campaign activities, such as:
phone banks
precinct walks
letters-to-the-editor
voter registration
yard sign & bumper sticker distribution
campaign headquarter work
Get Out The Vote (GOTV)
Election Day activities and more
EVCs are in continuous contact with NRA-ILA’s Grassroots staff at NRA Headquarters, constantly exchanging ideas and information. Grassroots staff provide EVCs with practical, hands-on training, both in the field and from Headquarters. EVCs are also receive a monthly newsletter published by the NRA-ILA Grassroots Division.
EVCs are heavily promoted through NRA-ILA’s website, mailings, newsletters, political alerts, phone conversations, in the field and via NRA’s national publications.
Many EVCs have strong personal relationships with their lawmakers at all levels of government, and are often consulted on firearm-related issues affecting gun owners.
EVCs serve on a voluntary basis, and ARE NOT employed by NRA. Like you, they are NRA Members and volunteers who have stepped forward to help organize fellow Second Amendment supporters in an effort to protect our freedoms. If you are able to give ANY time to assist with volunteer activities in support of local pro-gun candidates, please contact the EVC in your area. If you need assistance or further information regarding an electoral or legislative matter, please feel free to contact the NRA-ILA Grassroots Division at (800) 392-8683.
