The ability of the NRA to protect and promote our Second Amendment freedom is directly related to our numbers. There are an estimated 70 million gun owners but only 4 million NRA members. We must increase our numbers. The NRA especially needs more women, youth, and hunters. There’s no other organization with the muscle we need to protect our Second Amendment Rights. You don’t have to agree with everything the NRA does, but you do need to be a member to be sure Washington knows we’re very serious about preserving our freedoms. In fact, I think having you as a member is so important to protecting the future of the shooting sports… I'm offering one year and annual renewal memberships for $10 off the regular membership cost. Don't miss this opportunity; sign up today because this offer could end at any time.

Just a few of the many benefits you will receive as an NRA Annual Member include:

• An official NRA Membership ID card - showing your Membership ID number and expiration date or Life Member status. You should carry this card with you at all times.

• With all regular memberships, you will get a choice of subscription to American Rifleman, American Hunter, or America's 1st Freedom.

• $1000 of ArmsCare coverage with your NRA membership. This plan covers insured firearms, air guns, bows and arrows against theft, accidental loss, and damage.

• The most important benefit of NRA membership is the defense of your Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Successful legislative action begins with you -- the individual member. For information regarding legislative action or to become an ILA grassroots volunteer, call 1-800-392-8683 or contact your NRA-ILA Election Volunteer Coordinator (EVC).

If you have questions about your NRA membership, please send an e-mail to membership@nrahq.org.

Just click here to sign up with your $25 and my $10 that will get you all the benefits as an annual member. If you are concerned about using your credit card over the Internet, you can use the printable application and mail it in to the address on the form. You will still get the special $25.00 price you get by using the online membership form.

I hope you will take advantage of this great offer and I also hope you will take a moment to check out the links on the right side of the page.

NRA-ILA-Election Volunteer Coordinators (EVCs)

Since 1994, NRA-ILA’s Grassroots Division has recruited and trained more than 330 Election Volunteer Coordinators (EVCs) to cover more than 360 congressional districts.

EVCs act as liaisons between pro-gun candidates’ campaigns and NRA members in their districts. EVCs provide volunteer support for all grassroots campaign activities, such as:

  • phone banks
  • precinct walks
  • letters-to-the-editor
  • voter registration
  • yard sign & bumper sticker distribution
  • campaign headquarter work
  • Get Out The Vote (GOTV)
  • Election Day activities and more

EVCs are in continuous contact with NRA-ILA’s Grassroots staff at NRA Headquarters, constantly exchanging ideas and information. Grassroots staff provide EVCs with practical, hands-on training, both in the field and from Headquarters. EVCs are also receive a monthly newsletter published by the NRA-ILA Grassroots Division.

EVCs are heavily promoted through NRA-ILA’s website, mailings, newsletters, political alerts, phone conversations, in the field and via NRA’s national publications.

Many EVCs have strong personal relationships with their lawmakers at all levels of government, and are often consulted on firearm-related issues affecting gun owners.

EVCs serve on a voluntary basis, and ARE NOT employed by NRA. Like you, they are NRA Members and volunteers who have stepped forward to help organize fellow Second Amendment supporters in an effort to protect our freedoms. If you are able to give ANY time to assist with volunteer activities in support of local pro-gun candidates, please contact the EVC in your area. If you need assistance or further information regarding an electoral or legislative matter, please feel free to contact the NRA-ILA Grassroots Division at (800) 392-8683.

Virginia Shooting Sports Association

If you live in Virginia, I also urge you to join the Virginia Shooting Sports Association (VSSA), the official state affiliate association of the NRA.  VSSA is on the front lines in protecting your gun rights and hunting heritage at the Virginia General Assembly.

The mission of VSSA is to provide shooting opportunities for, and to protect the Second Amendment rights of, all law abiding Virginians.

VSSA supports many shooting disciplines including junior air rifle, shotgun, pistol and high power rifle. As the official state organization for the NRA, we are responsible for conducting state level shooting championships and selecting the "best of the best" to represent Virginia in the individual and team competition at Camp Perry, Ohio. These "Team Virginia" members are selected from individual members of VSSA and affiliated clubs.

VSSA also promotes hunting. As part of our legislative efforts we work to protect all shooting sports from the anti-gun and anti-hunting crowd.

VSSA annually sponsors one of the most successful charity shooting events of its type with the proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Goals

The goals of VSSA are to:

unite shooters, hunters, sportsmen, collectors and all other law abiding firearms enthusiasts to promote the safe and responsible use of firearms;

promote the development of the shooting sports and the facilities necessary to the shooting sports; and,

provide a united voice to all levels of government to defend the shooting sports, and firearms ownership.
